Project Lead: Spazju Kreattiv (Malta’s National Centre for Creativity)
As both researcher and host, I developed and produced the Spazju Kreattiv Podcast as an archival and educational extension of the organisation’s artistic programming. The podcast provided a platform for exploring Malta’s contemporary arts scene through in-depth conversations with artists, curators, producers, and other creative practitioners, creating an accessible record of the ideas, processes, and perspectives shaping the local cultural landscape.
My Role & Key Contributions
I was involved throughout the editorial and production process, from research and preparation through to recording, editing, and final publication:
Research & Editorial Development: Identified key themes, topics, and conversations emerging from Spazju Kreattiv’s programme and the wider contemporary arts scene in Malta.
Guest Research & Preparation: Conducted in-depth background research on each guest and their practice, developing relevant discussion points and questions to create informed and meaningful conversations.
Interviewing & Hosting: Led long-form conversations with artists, curators, producers, and creatives, creating a space for guests to discuss their practices, ideas, experiences, and creative processes.
Storytelling & Public Engagement: Translated complex artistic and cultural concepts into accessible, engaging, and narrative-driven audio content, helping to bridge the gap between the artist’s studio and the public ear.
Production & Editing: Managed the production and post-production of the podcast, including recording, editing, structuring, and preparing episodes for publication.
Archival & Educational Content: Contributed to building an accessible audio archive of Spazju Kreattiv’s programming and the voices of Malta’s contemporary creative community.
Content Production: Produced and edited 32 episodes during my time as host, overseeing the development of each episode from initial research through to its final published form.
This project highlights my ability to combine research, editorial development, interviewing, cultural communication, and audio production, transforming complex artistic ideas into engaging content while creating a lasting archive of Malta’s contemporary cultural discourse.
